JIFFY LUBE: YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW

W.J. “James” Hindman founded Jiffy Lube in 1979 and pioneered the fast oil change industry by establishing
the first drive-through service bay, providing customers with fast and professional service. In 1980 there were
about 10 service centers, by 1990 that number grew to about 1000, and today there are more than 2200 Jiffy
Lubes, making it the largest system of franchised and company-operated service centers in the fast lube
industry.

Jiffy Lube serves approximately 30 million customers each year – more than two customers every second!

Jiffy Lube introduced the now-ubiquitous window cling reminder sticker to help drivers keep track of their oil
change intervals.

Jiffy Lube maintains a work force of more than 26,000 employees.

The California Department of General Services uses Jiffy Lube for its fleet oil changes. As an added
convenience, employees pay with their state Voyager Fuel Card which makes it easy to track expenses and
reduce paperwork.

In 2000, Jiffy Lube rolled out the first “female friendly” concept stores in Chicago and San Francisco, marking a
significant shift for the automotive aftermarket industry. Some of the changes introduced in the waiting areas of
these service centers included leather furniture, premium coffee, Web kiosks, satellite television, free local
phone calls, auto accessories for purchase, women’s magazines and CD listening stations. Many other Jiffy
Lube service centers have since adopted elements of these new-style waiting areas.

Jiffy Lube gives their drivers the freedom to visit any Jiffy Lube service center with the peace of mind that their
records can travel with them thanks to the use of state-of-the-art computing technology to educate customers
about vehicle maintenance services, share customers’ maintenance histories across its network, and provide
services that satisfy vehicle manufacturers’ warranty requirements.

Jiffy Lube is also widely recognized for its environmentally responsible track record and community service
commitments. Jiffy Lube collects more used oil than any company in North America. This oil is re-refined and
used for industrial applications, such as paper, concrete manufacturing, electricity generation and heating
asphalt to pave roads.

Jiffy Lube franchisees and Jiffy Lube International also support a wide range of social issues and non-profit
organizations including the Jimmy Fund at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, the American Cancer Society,
Make-A-Wish® Foundation, the Muscular Dystrophy Association® and many local children’s hospitals.

In 2004, Jiffy Lube International announced its expansion into China through a partnership with Shanghai
Automotive Industry Sales Corporation. Additional overseas expansions are also in development.
